ESOL Tutor

Hours: 13-32 hours per week, Term-time only (dependant on how many classes an applicant can teach.)

Class 1 Mon/Weds (10:00-14:00 in Shefford), Class 2 Tues/Thurs (10:00-14:00 in Shefford) and Class 3 Friday (9:30-12:30 in Bedford), plus preparation and meeting hours worked flexibly.

We would be open to applicants who would like to teach 1 or 2 of the above classes as opposed to three. Please state in your application if this is your preference.

Terms: Term time only contract

Salary: £26,000 – £27,664 pro rata (£12.50 – £13.30 per hour) plus holiday pay

Location: Bedfordshire

Our ESOL service was established in 2017 and now runs 5 days per week and offers English lessons for resettled refugees and an English Club with an emphasis on learning skills for integration into UK society. We are a growing team of ESOL tutors and creche teams providing training to help refugees and their families to resettle in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire.

About The Role:

The ESOL Tutor teaches, plans, delivers and assesses learners of English as a second language. The tutor is involved in curriculum development and part of an expanding ESOL Team and service at King’s Arms Project. Group classes are provided to resettled adults and run at Pre-Entry, Beginner, Elementary and Pre-Intermediate Levels at our teaching locations in Shefford and Bedford.

There is potential for this role to teaching one, two or three classes based on service need and candidate availability.
